COMMITTED, EXPERIENCED
Meet our Founder
Our Founder and Managing Director, Lara Freidin, has spent over a decade working with advocates across the country to influence national reforms to address gender-based violence, enhance access to justice, and create a fairer, more equal society.

Lara Freidin
Founder and Managing Director
Prior to founding Wildfire Advisory, Lara enjoyed a diverse career spanning community organisations, government, politics, and the law. She is a respected strategic adviser and an experienced policy and advocacy specialist who has worked on national and state campaigns to reform policies, laws and systems to improve people’s lives.
Previously, as Executive Officer of Women’s Legal Services Australia, Lara was a key architect of the legal assistance sector receiving an additional $800 million in Access to Justice Partnership funding. Lara has overseen national advocacy campaigns, working alongside community organisations, academics and lived experience experts, to influence key reforms in relation to family violence, family law, migration, and the criminal justice system.
Lara combines her experience as a political adviser — both for the Shadow Attorney-General and the Victorian Minister for Victim Support — with a deep understanding of the legal system, the community services sector, and social justice and intersectional values, to craft winning advocacy strategies. She draws on her networks across the country to identify opportunities for influence, and to build strong partnerships for her clients.
